Logic
From Tractatus
There is much in this universe which is ugly. There are a few things of surpassing beauty. Pause. The curve of a woman's neck.
Iain gets lost for moment.
These things are worth dwelling on. They are worth paying attention to. One of these things is Logic. When I say Logic I do not mean what passes in normal discourse for logic. That is mere Argument. Logic is not about some bizarre set of 'fallacies' it is about a reduction to essentials. It about the organism, it is about how the sunlight slides over skin. Logic is about systemacially reducing to the what is essential, and nothing more. When you have seen something beautiful, you might wonder if it is only you. But then, you look at it, and you can tell that within the thing of beauty, there is some Truth of the universe. And you know in that moment that the Beauty is True.
Logic is beautiful in this way.
