I was thinking of a way to explain basic symbolic logic... by drawing a line and labeling the left of the line 'What we know' and the right 'What we can prove' and slowly moving the line from left to right across the black board. You could start off with English sentences. Replace with symbols. Form basic terms. Write sentances. Create predicates... and so forth.
